1972 Plymouth

Duster

Description

The Motorcar Gallery in Fort Lauderdale is proud to present this 1972 Plymouth Duster 340. This is an authentic H-code #'s matching 340, 4spd, with a 3:55 Sure Grip rear. The build sheet is still under the seat! Engine and trans were rebuilt about 10k miles ago, recent B5 blue paint, with new black bench interior. Options include power steering, manual drum brakes, 14 Rallye wheels with nicer looking pre-71 center caps, 235/60-14 tires in back, 205/70-14's up front, BFG Radial TA/s, dual side view mirrors, updated stereo system (AM-FM-CD), original AM radio included – although the dash has been cut to accommodate the newer style system. New parts installed this month include front and back seat covers, complete carpet setup, new dash trim (not pictured), radio antenna, a correct orange 340 air cleaner and all new decals as the previous installation was not correct. Suspension wise we installed new shocks and leaf spring perches (a previous owner welded traction bars to the old ones, SMH). The floors and rockers are in good shape, the trunk floor is a little soft but okay for now. The car runs and drives okay but could use a little TLC here and there.

We would classify this car as a good #3 car – according to Hagerty. This is Hagerty's definition for a #3 car:

#3 vehicles drive well but are not used for daily transportation. The casual passerby will not find any visual flaws, but these vehicles might have some incorrect parts. #3 vehicles could possess some, but not all, of the issues of a #4 vehicle, but they will be balanced by other factors such as fresh paint or a new, correct interior.

This A-body Mopar has great “bones” and would be easy to take it to the next level. These cars are very hot right now with the best examples bringing in well over $100k.
