1971 Plymouth Road Runner
“The year 1971 brought significant change to the American muscle car, with a number of model redesigns appearing. One was the release of the 2-door G-series Chrysler B-bodies, including the Charger/Super Bee and GTX/Road Runner muscle cars. At the time, few foresaw how close to the end of this era the Big Three manufacturers were. This body was called the 'fuselage' style and featured much smoother, more dramatic edges than previous renderings of the classic Plymouth. This was the direct result of ongoing aerodynamic testing that Chrysler had been involved in, and it proved apt on the NASCAR circuit, where this design took Richard Petty to 21 event crowns and the first-ever Winston Cup title that season.” - Muscle Car Museum
This 1971 Plymouth Road Runner is finished in the correct exterior color of Tor-Red (also known as Hemi Orange for Dodge products) with a black vinyl top. The exterior is enhanced by the Road Runner graphics and black trunk spoiler. The interior is finished in black with a full bench. The car features power steering and has been upgraded with Wilwood front disc brakes. The transmission is a date code correct A727. This Plymouth is running on polished American Racing wheels which are surrounded by B.F. Goodrich G-Force T/A tires. Original style Rallye wheels are also included in the sale of the vehicle.
Although not new paint the finish presents very well with only a few minor imperfections. The underside as can be seen in the photos and videos is very solid with no areas of corrosion.
This classic muscle car sounds fantastic as the power from the numbers matching 383 cubic inch motor is directed into the Flow Master dual exhaust system and exiting out the correct chrome exhaust tips.
If you are a Mopar or muscle car enthusiast this is the perfect selection to begin or expand your collection.
