The Pontiac Trans Am began life as an option package for the 1969 Firebird and essentially took the performance to a new level. The Trans Am offered upgraded horsepower, suspension, handling and visual impact. This 1984 Firebird Trans Am Gen III is an original, well cared for Poncho. The factory Artic White exterior is accented by an aero package, sport-hood w/'fade-away' graphics and smoked glass t-tops. The grey cloth/vinyl interior w/Recaro front bucket seats is also original and in very good condition. Convenience features include: A/C, AM/FM/Cassette sound system, full gauge package, power locks, cruise, tilt wheel and power tinted windows. This G-code Trans Am is powered by GM's 305 HO motor that produces 190bhp when fueled by the computer assisted 750cfm Q-Jet Rochester. Compression ratio is 9.5:1 and the HO performance cam has .405/.415 lift. Air is ingested through the cowl induction hood and torque is delivered by a 5-speed manual gearbox. The chassis incorporates power steering, HD sway bars, 4-wheel power disc brakes, 16” Pontiac alloy rims w/nearly-new Michelin radials and 3.73:1 limited slip differential.
