38,525 Miles/5.7L LT1 V8/Moser 12 Bolt/Garage Kept/4L60E Auto/2600rpm Converter
For consignment, originally from our friends up north in the St. Therese, Canada assembly plant, this sculpted, aerodynamic T-topped muscle car from the Pontiac camp. With its 38,525 title verified low original miles, this WS6 version has been garage kept since May of 1998, never seen snow and only has seen rain a mere 6-8 times. Always treated to Zaino Brother's car car products and now sporting a host of go fast goodies, 1997 never looked so good!
Exterior
All dressed up in Bright Red, from the integrated panels at the front of the fenders/hood that magically turn into headlights, to the Ram Air intake cowling hood hovering above the pointed beak for the neoprene front bumper cover with deeply inset fog lights, to the coke body styling down the sides, to the severely raked windscreen, to the rear trunk lid that seems to go on forever as it becomes an integrated spoiler. Speaking of the glass, aftermarket tinting has been applied to not only protect the interior but to add to the mysterious look and muscular charm. All in nice condition, and the optional T-tops are with this car. Special upgraded factory chrome WS6 wheels are seen on all 4's.
Interior
Charcoal Gray leather covers the front power buckets, the rear 2 plus 2 bench, and steering wheel, as well as gearshift. The leather is soft and supple and shows only slight folds and wrinkles that come with age and careful care. A swooping center console is flanked by the buckets and makes its way to the dash while including a glove box/armrest, cup holder, gearshift, climate controls, and an aftermarket Kenwood AM/FM/CD player. The normal cluster instruments are clean and bright and down below the dash we note a Jet Performance transmission controller. Nice matching charcoal gray carpet floods the floor and up top we get a view of the sky through the smoked glass roof panels.
Drivetrain
A 350ci LT1 V8 is found within the engine bay and is electronically fuel injected and ultra reliable thanks in part to the new AC Delco fuel pump. This mill has the added benefit of Ram Air Induction, a high performance MAF sensor, MSD ignition, and a 52mm throttle body. The 4L60E 4-speed automatic transmission is bolted to the back and has a Precision Industries 2600rpm stall converter, a Trans-Go shift kit, and a B&M 19,000lb transmission cooler. This potent combination sends power back to a Moser 12-bolt rear axle with 3.73 ratio and posi-traction and this in turn allows the tires to spin and make the black marks on the pavement! We note the addition of JBA stainless steel 1 5/8" long tube headers, a Random-Tech Y pipe with high flow cats and a Borla cat back exhaust system.
Undercarriage
The undercarriage is showroom with just light road dirt but certainly no rust. Power front and rear disc brakes are on all the corners providing the whoah factor for this screaming chicken. For the suspension, we see an independent coil spring front arrangement and in the back a torque arm with coil springs. An adjustable panhard bar is on as are adjustable lower control arms along with subframe connectors to stiffen up the chassis.
Drive-Ability
This car started right up, and even smells new! Smooth shifting, nice power and great ride as well as interior comfort. One gets the feeling of driving a piece of sculpture with all the inlets and curved cowlings etc. Overall, a great driver like new, and it almost is!
A very low mileage well cared for example of the modern style Trans Am. Aerodynamically designed and performance enhanced to be reliably driven, hassle free. Turn the key, open up the top panels and make some marks on the pavement!
