"Magnificent Mopar"
GR Auto Gallery is pleased to offer this 1968 Plymouth GTX for your consideration. The GTX was offered with two motor options from the factory. This example is fitted with the 440ci V8 motor which routes power to the rear wheels through an automatic transmission. The selling owner made sure this car was a strong runner and replaced the radiator, added an electric fan, and installed a new torque converter. This GTX fires right up, idles smooth, stays cool, and most importantly pulls hard down the road.
Sporting Frost Blue paint over a beautiful blue vinyl interior, this GTX is eye-catching. It rides on Eagle Alloy wheels wrapped in BFGoodrich Comp T/A tires. The exterior is very clean with straight body lines, all appropriate trim pieces, and black vinyl top. Like the exterior, the interior is also very clean. It remains stock with the exception of three aftermarket gauges and an aftermarket radio.
The horsepower wars of the late 60's was a shining star in American automotive history with the GTX in the lead pack. The GTX represented Chrysler's blend of style and performance in the 1960's. The trim level on these cars are high. Well-appointed interiors and stylish exterior trim was complimented by a base motor consisting of 440 CID and rated at 375 HP. For 1968, after only one year in production, the GTX received a new look. The body was redesigned to a more hourglass look giving the car an overall more aggressive look and stance.
