1971 Buick Skylark Custom Convertible
Classic Car Addict is excited to present this one-owner 1971 Buick Skylark custom convertible for sale in our Mesa, Arizona showroom. For reasons that aren't clear, the top-of-the-line GM A-bodies, the Buick Skylark, don't get the same level of attention as their Chevy and Pontiac siblings, and that's a shame. They are every bit as attractive, have the same handling, and are fitted with a variety of Buick's V8 powerplants.
There was only a limited production number of only 3,993 Skylark Custom Convertibles that were produced for the 1971 model year. This Skylark is a survivor that has must of its original paint (some arears have been repainted), mostly original interior, and original engine. It's not quite ready for show in preservation classes, but a little clean up here and there will pay big dividends if that's your thing.
The cabin features two rows of bench seats with original Pearl White vinyl joined by matching door panels. The three-spoke Buick steering wheel frames a 120-mph speedometer and a fuel level gauge with auxiliary warning lights. The five-digit odometer shows 27,567 miles. That averages out to 520 miles per year.
The Skylark is finished in Bittersweet Mist Poly (62), and it still wears its factory original color. The paint has sun fade on the hood and the trunk; the rest of the vehicle still looks great. Features include Skylark Custom badging on the rear quarter panels. All chrome looks to still be original, and some areas have a little surface rust. The power white vinyl top is also in great condition.
This 1971 Buick Skylark convertible is finished in Bittersweet Mist Poly and is powered by a 350ci V8 paired with a three-speed automatic transmission. The 350ci V8 breathes through a four-barrel carburetor and features orange valve covers. It starts quickly and easily with a great V8 rumble from the dual exhaust system. It wears factory Road Wheels, which were some of the most attractive rolling stock of its era and is fitted with BF Goodrich radial T/A's 225/60R14's.
Don't sleep on this Skylark, a little elbow grease and some additional love, it would be a nice show car. Call Classic Car Addict today at 480-256-1459.
