1970 Chevrolet Camaro Z28 Tribute
Why This Car Is Special
The first year for the second generation of Camaro, the 1970 has many one year features and is highly collectible. The Z28, SS and RS models all had their benefits and their followers. This particular model is badged as a Z28; the high revving track car of the group.
Mechanical
The 350 CID V8 is mildly built with an Edelbrock intake, Quick Fuel Technologies 4-barrel carburetor, a mild cam and full-length headers running to 3” dual exhaust with an h-pipe and mufflers. It has a great sound! The engine is backed up by a stout Turbo 400 automatic transmission. The power is then transferred to a 10-bolt rear end with a 3.73 locking differential and traction bars. This ensures all of that power gets to the ground! Power steering and power brakes make cruising in this Camaro as easy and can be. The shifting is handled through a B&M shifter mounted in the stock center console.
Interior
The interior is done in black vinyl with only minor changes from stock. Those changes being a JVC AM/FM/CD player, additional gauges in the center console, and the B&M shifter. It has the correct one year only headrests on the bucket seats and comes equipped with seat belts and the Z28 badge on the steering wheel. The 150 MPH speedometer was also a one-year feature, and this 1970 has it. The trunk is solid and nicely painted with correct spatter paint, as it would have been from the factory. The bucket seats are comfortable and sporty.
Exterior
The Camaro is painted in the very desirable Hugger Orange with Black rally stripes that looks phenomenal on these split bumper Camaros. Correct rally wheels are retained, and front and rear spoilers complete the muscle car look. A steel cowl hood has been added to this Camaro to give it an even tougher look. To give this Chevy the ultimate nameplate, Z28 badges have been added to the grill, taillight panel and fenders. It has a killer stance and looks tough from every angle. You can even see the traction bars peeking out from in front of the rear tires, letting onlookers know that this car isn't just pretty, it's ready to roll! 1970 was the first year for the Second Generation of Camaro and what a way to kick it off! This car is pure muscle and is a great investment as these 1970-1973 Camaros keep climbing in value.
Conclusion
If you're in the market for a sweet second generation Camaro at a steal of a price, your search is over.
