Apollo White 66 Coronet
1966 Dodge Coronet
What Makes This Car Special
The Coronet name was attached to the former full-size models, like the 1966 Dodge Coronet we have here at Skyway Classics, in 1965 to become Dodge's intermediate-sized car.
The Coronet received a redesign in 1966 and trim levels were base Coronet, Coronet 440 and Coronet 500. Ours is the top-of-the-line 500.
Mechanical
To improve the performance of this great Coronet 500 it has a warmed over 383 V8 engine in the engine bay that has a host of performance parts on it like a Weiand aluminum intake, a performance Holley carb, MSD electronics, distributor, coil, and spark plug wires, Mopar Performance black valve covers and air cleaner, tubular headers flowing back to performance dual exhausts, and more.
The motor is complimented by a 3 speed automatic transmission that smoothly shifts gears as you cruise down the street. Our 500 aslo has power steering which enhances the drivability of the car. It is a great daily driver and is very comfortable.
To ensure the proper flow of gas to this engine an electric fuel pump has been added with a switch installed that is located right next to the ignition for helping seamless starts each and every time.
Interior
It is sporting a very tasteful red bucket seat interior that looks just as it did from the factory with matching rear bench seat and door panels, its red painted dash, chrome floor shifter in the chrome console, factory gauges, black floor mats, and red carpeting.
The seats, door panels and the overhead panel look like they are in very good condition, as well as the trunk area which is nice with a grey design factory trunk mat.
Exterior
The Dodge is painted in Apollo White with only minor chips and such found in the paint due to normal use. The white and red interior are great compliments toward one another and all the chrome trim, bumpers, and emblems are great too.
It rides on factory 5-spoke chrome mag wheels with blackwall tires on all four corners and handles well with performance work done to the chassis as well as brakes and shocks.
Conclusion
This 1966 Dodge Coronet 500 we have here at Skyway Classics is a great muscle car of the period, sleek lines, great red interior, performance engine, and the ride and stance with the wheels and tires make this a great buy for you to drive and enjoy.
